The Prophecy of the Four
Aniel's Story
Prequel to the Four trilogy
Britannia - Year 60
Amidst rumours of betrayal and impending attack by the Romans who had been ravaging villages upon the northern shoreline, druids, chieftains and their clans have gathered under a cloak of impending doom to celebrate the most important event in the Celtic calendar — the Samhain.
They stand anxious as night falls, for the magical ritual to begin, awaiting the news of the arrival of the Prophecy of the Four. The Celts have prayed for the coming of these four divine warriors for centuries. With invaders upon their soil, now more than ever, everyone is looking to the Prophecy of the Four to save them.
After many years away from the island travelling to far and sacred places, Aniel, a druid's apprentice, is excited to be part of his first Samhain and experience the coming of the goddess mother. He is blissfully unaware of the chaos that the freshly inked owl upon his forearm will cause. In one night, Aniel's understanding of the world and those who rule it will be severely tested, as the goddess, unleashed by his presence, brands him with a secret prophecy. Its content so precious, many are ready to kill for it.
Desperate to stay alive, he turns to the one individual whom he was warned to stay away from — Cypritus, a silver-eyed man, despised and feared by the high council of druids for being a thief of souls. An outcast, he has come to the Samhain with a hidden purpose.
What had promised to be a magical evening filled with promise will go down in the history of the Celts like no other, creating a rippling effect that will last for the next two thousand years.
